DVD reveiw of lats : The super muscle
I have already written some about Master RKC Mark Reifkind`s DVD Lats: The super muscle but i fell that i have to go in more and talk about it and my own thoughts about the Lats.
So here it comes.
When i started my RKC road to knowledge i didnt now how mush there was to learn about training, i mean i had trained for 20 years already.
But the more i learn the less i see i know and have to get a grasp on =)
Lets take the Swing ( the center of RKC universe ) : After i was certified RKC 2009 i thought that i got a good hang of the Swing , i mean its just to move it like we were learned and do it right.
But whats right? is it just to swing whit out thinking NOOOOOOO.
I did the ugly swing for 8 month (to much power ) then i meet up with Dennis Frisch RKC Team leader who showed me the hip movement right and i went home thinking more when i did the swing.
Then in May 2010 i went to Us and CK-FMS and there was a new eye opener my back, i rounded my back just a little but it was not good so i started to work on that when i came home.
The thing that made me get it was when i cleaned up mu Clean to master the ark of the bell better.
Before i was thinking tension and then in my legs, butt and abs, keeping my back tensed as one unit.
But the back is so much more than just a back (Rif talks about this in a real easy and light to get way) so i started to not arch the back but find the Lats in the right spot to give me the chest up that i wanted and i fund it.
starting to get my Clean better i started to do the same with my Swing and it started to improve a lot.
My back was getting more training and the swing was better (not perfect but better ;) ).
I was starting to think when i did the Swing like i use to do in Bodybuilding on muscle at the time seeking the the right muscle to work, Like when you do a curl you think of the biceps and so i did with the Swing but just for a split second when i was i that position of the swing then i had to think next muscle and put it together like one movement.
I started to fell my back more after every season i did and it felt great, my swing was getting better and more fluent.
Then i saw Mr Reifkinds DVD and said that i s a must in my collection =)
Mr Reifkind is a Master RKC and has been training people long before the PT was ever invented =) He knows training and as Mr Whitley said he has forgotten more than others know`s =)
And it was a eye opener to watch the DVD.
Rif starts to explain the kiniesiology of the Lats and what it do in a very understanding and simple way.
Its not just a muscle it that much more.
Then it how to find the Lats and thats not that easy if you dont know how but after that Rif has explained how to i am sure that the most of you is going to have the Lats felling ;)
Then he go in to the swing and make you find the Lats and how it should work for you. its not a how to do Swing in that way its how to find the Lats in the swing in a very simple and good way.
It how to get the understanding of the Lats in the Swing.
Then its the Clean and Press: it very important to use the Lats in the Press for safety and to press more and heavy.
How to work the Lats in the press to get a better Pull up ;)
He shows a lot of good drills to do and to work on.
He ends the DVD with some easy stretch drill for the Lats.
I mean i know a thing or two about the Lats but after this DVd i know a lot more and can practice safer, better and more correct :)
I give it 5 Kettlebells of 5 =)
